Ok, I did choose red as a teensy accent color in my hall bath makeover. I think it looks great with the turquoise walls.
I love how Meg Braff used red trim with this Chinoiserie wallpaper. Such an unexpected and bold choice.
And then I saw a snippet of this fabulous room by Kim Macumber in my sidebar as I was putting this post together. I haven't had a chance to comment on her blog yet, but I am so proud of Kim! This space is cozy/gorgeous!

While the rooms you have showed are lovely, I get nervous around red and I can feel my heart rate increase. It's a bit like really potent chili for me. A little goes a long way so perhaps a red vase might be enough for me!
I love red in small doses. When we were looking to buy our house here last year, every house had a red dining room. If you drive down our current street, there is a red room in every home. No joke. In fact the house we bought had a red living room. When done right (like your inspiration pics) red rooms can be great, but when not I'm not a fan.
I adore red, but I too had a red dining room. The most red Ihave had since thesis a chair covered in red.
Beautiful images. Love your bath.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Kim's red bookcase wall is the BEST! I'm not a lover of using red, but can see the wonders of it when used like she does!!!!
Happy Valentine's Day
