Easing into Honeysuckle

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Yes, it's the color of the year for 2011 - and oh yes, we do love it!  The question is - what do we do with it? Do you plan to incoroporate this dynamic color into your home? I know I will, but most likely in small doses.

Pillow from Rie Elise Larson

Honeysuckle dot cocktail napkins found here

Strut console table in Watermelon from BluDot

I've seen these sweet tables everywhere lately.  They're from Oomph but would be easy to duplicate with spraypaint.

Here's another simple spraypaint project.  Beautiful against that chocolate wall, yes? Image from Apartment Therapy

Layer on a fuzzy throw in Honeysuckle.  Done.  Also from Apartment Therapy.

And for those who are willing to throw caution to the wind, here's a luxe chair done up in pink velvet. Yummygood.

Honeysuckle for you?

I love it! Explains why I've been seeing it all over the place for the past few days. It goes with so many colors, can't wait to see how everybody uses it. Perhaps I'll make some jewelry this color.

Well salmon pink is as far as I will go and that was pushing it.

Kim what is so funny is I have had honeysuckle or watermelon in my family room for over 6 years and I am tired of it. It is only in a floral pattern on a natural linen sofa and in a small check in a reading chair. I also have it in some of my art, but I am tired of it and want a change. It comes in and I am wanting to throw it out!!! too funny!! Kathysue

PS I love all the images of how you would like to use it subtly. The first pillow is really beautiful. I know how ever you choose to display it,it will be chic and classy.

I love this year's color, it's a particularly beautiful shade of pink. Not too bold, very sweet but not childish. Love the inspiration you posted, especially the pink mirror frame!

WELL, I've got 2 amazing chairs that I'm going to restore and attempt to reupholster MOISELF! Honeysuckle could play a part in the fabric roll perhaps!! This was very convincing :) !!!!! XO, Kelly

I love the color and almost wish it wasn't the "it" color of the year.

I'm so wanting to have the opportunity to go there! I'm hoping I have a client that loves it as much as me, but as I said in my blog post this week, I've got a guest room I can use! I have alot of orange in my house, so I think the combo of orange and pink could be fun. We'll see!

Hello! I like the image where the color was just used to paint the mirror. Maybe because that is an easy update and it is used sparingly. I really like softer colors so this is probably a little bright for me personally, but I think in the right space in small doses it would be ok.

Pantone is fantastic for their descriptions of the abstract. Honeysuckle is the color/cocktail/horoscope of the year. Stick to their writing skills, and toss a honeysuckle pillow and be done with it. The important thing for all of us is what do we love??
Best,
Liz

You are so right, we all do love it, but do we want it? A child's room? Absolutely. As an accent in very neutral space? Probably. As an entire living or dining room? Absolutely not. Could it be fabulous? Yes. Would you tire of it quickly? Yes.

I think I will probably pass on this color. It might be a little to bold for my taste. It's a pretty color just maybe not for me.

I adore this color; it's so happy and delicious. Would love to bring it in, but afraid it won't work with what I have. We shall see...
