Chair Couture

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

You already know how much I love a great chair makeover, right?  It seems I'm not the only one with this affliction!  While blog hopping the other day I came across Chair Couture, a website that features vintage chairs that have been done up with bold, modern fabrics.  These chairs are so personal to owner and designer Margaret Elman they are named instead of given a product number.  Cute!

Yep, that's actually fabric on the chair that was made by Ms. Elman from a photograph of grass.

Another custom fabric, this time using a photograph of water.

Great!  Now I'm feeling inspired to finish this

Eyes on the prize - we're over the hump!

I love Chair Couture - my favourite is their turquoise chairs with the lime green trim- amazing! Good luck with your chair- I have totally botched my two bergers and am sending them to the upholsterer next week:(

I cannot wait to see your chair! I covered a headboard in that fabric and it is my favorite thing in our house.

These are unbelievable, LOVE the photos with grass and water. Honestly, people's creativity just blows me away "Let's take a picture of grass and upholster a chair with it", lol! XX!

Those fabrics are totally wild. The first pic looks like a set of emeralds.

So cool! By the way? Is this the Braemore fabric? I'm going to use it, too (for drapes).
