$5 per Yard Rose Cumming Fabrics

Thursday, November 20, 2014

Yes, you read that right.  Recently I got an email from someone at Off the Floor Now asking me to spread the word that every Friday in the month of November you can get discontinued Rose Cumming and Classic Cloth fabrics for an incredible $5 per yard! These incredible fabrics are very high end and have a timeless appeal.

Want to see a few of my favorites?

And, please don't make the mistake of thinking that since these fabrics are discontinued they are no longer relevant.  Au contraire! Here's a little mock-up I made for you that features all Rose Cumming fabrics as pillow options.

There are only two Fridays left in November, so hurry over to Off The Floor Now and order up your favorites!

Happy weekend friends!

Ebay Fabric Obsessions

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

Is anyone else sick of all the playoff/bowl games that have been on TV over the past few weeks? I honestly don't mind watching the occasional football game with teams that I actually know and care about, but to watch game after game (after game) is not my idea of a good time.  So whilst the husband was alternately cheering and cursing at the TV, I made good use of my time by doing a little cyber fabric stalking, ebay style.  Have you tumbled down this rabbit hole yet? If you haven't,  you're missing out on some good stuff.

Like Brunschwig &Fils "Kyoto"  Completely lovely, super affordable, and there's enough to make a few pillows.

Or "Chinese Peony" from JP& G Baker, priced at just under $30 per yard. It's a polished cotton chintz in a gorgeous mint green.

Are you on the blue & white bandwagon? Here's a fabulous print you won't see all over town.

I love this one.  Don't judge.

Or what about Cowtan & Tout's Bloomsbury. Ultra-feminine and old school, but everything in moderation right?

Trust me, this is only the beginning.  And while we're on the subject of shopping, guess who's going to Scott's Antique Market??  Super excited!!!  I haven't been to Scott's in about 4 years so I'm really looking forward to the entire experience.  It's always so fun!  Look for lots of pictures on my Instagram feed.

Happy shopping everyone!

One Room Challenge Week Five - Kitchen Progress

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

I can hardly believe I'm typing this but we're now in WEEK 5 (aka "Panic Week" ) of  Linda's One Room Challenge.  If this is your first visit here, welcome!  As part of this series ( which culminates in the BIG REVEAL next Wednesday)  I've been making over the kitchen at my house.  If you would like to see the progression thus far, click here.

So about this week. Not a huge leap forward, but a few little details have been addressed. I think "shopping" is the theme of this post.

Like I changed out my cabinet hardware. When we first moved in I used some pink glass knobs and pulls left over from another project. I replaced them with these lucite knobs and very simple drawer pulls I found at Home Depot.

And that early 90's tile floor that makes me cringe is a little less visible under my new seagrass rug from the O.  Please note that if you want a natural fiber rug in the kitchen, seagrass is the way to go.  Seagrass is grown in salt marshes and is naturally water/stain resistant. Why they take all that water resistance and then band it with plain cotton is beyond me.

A cute and easy storage solution was found at my local HomeGoods.  The big basket is large enough to hold a 20-lb bag of dog food and the smaller stripe basket holds 4 big soft drink bottles and an assortment of canned drinks too.

I have been styling and restyling my shelves ad nauseum.  "Effortless" looking styling is exhausting.

Finally, I tried out this little x- bench but I don't think it's staying.  All those legs going every which-way is just too much.  I think if by some miracle I can find a bench with cabriole legs similar to the table legs then I would be good with that.  Or I may just end up getting another Panton chair.  What do you think?

I'm still waiting for window coverings to be finished, art/framing to be completed and picked up, and over the table lighting installed.  And more shelf styling.  This could be a nail-biter of a week.

Wonder how these folks made out.

The Latest

Friday, September 27, 2013

Good Friday fine people!!!  I can't believe we're on the threshold of another weekend.  Things have been very busy lately - and that's a good thing - but I didn't want to let the week end without giving you a glimpse into what I've been up to lately.  It's all good stuff!

First, my sweet client's nursery is complete.  And as of this writing, the new arrival should be enjoying the space we created just for him.  Let's hope he's getting some sleep in there.

In other work related news, I delivered this adorable pagoda cornice this week.
Do you recognize that fabric?  It's the same Lemon Tree fabric I used in my family room makeover as part of the One Room Challenge.  I still love it!

And I survived the Home Show.  Although it could have gone either way.  On move-in day I shattered the lid of one of my favorite white Ginger jars and when I finally got everything loaded my car was completely dead.  It wasn't a pretty scene.  But I got it together and the show went well and I picked up a few new clients. Yay.

So here's what my booth looked like.

Note in the picture above that I still have one of the two ginger jars with the lid intact.

And there has been some shopping.

Paint ?  Leave as is?  Fur cushion?  Many  options to consider.  Feel free to jump in.

And what about this pair of vintage lucite fixtures.  I want to put them somewhere in my house but can't decide where.  Until then they stay in the box.

Office chairs.  Yay! Since hubs and I will be sharing the office space I wanted to get him chairs that are somewhat macho.  Chrome and black leather should work fine.

And I got a pair of Greek key 3 drawer dressers that someone really did a number on.  And when I bought them they were on the sidewalk which happened to be 50% off that day so I got a sweet bargain, which I'm sure I'll end up paying back in sweat equity.  I have no idea what is on those handles but it should be fun (not) trying to remove it.

And that's all I have for now. Thanks so much for checking in with me.  We're supposed to have a beautiful weekend and I'm so excited cooler temperatures and lower humidity have finally arrived!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Big Style, Little Price

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Today I want to share some stylish finds that can easily fit most budgets - even mine!

I may have to find a place for this in my home office makeover, if that happens during my  lifetime.  And I'm having my doubts.  But that's a whole different post.  Back to Wuchow.  It's well-priced at $269 and I think the tomato color would look smashing against mint walls.

Am I crazy or does this handsome settee have a Ralph Lauren feel to it?  Currently on sale for $399, too!

Now these lights ... wouldn't it be fun to flank your bedside night stands with these instead of table lamps?

With plates this pretty, everything you cook could taste a little bit better.

And that concludes our shopping trip for today.  Any favorites here?

Favorite Pieces

Friday, April 19, 2013

What?  Friday already????

Before we get this weekend underway, I want to share a few of my favorite pieces from last weekend's shopping trip in Atlanta.

How cute is this 1960s Drexel night stand?  I love the brass caps on the legs and the marble top.

I think this piece is worthy of a bedroom like this.  Poodle optional of course.

Agreed?  Call/email me.  Let's make this happen at your place!

Also got a PAIR of these fab mid-century mini consoles.

Are dying over the hardware and burlwood details?  Me too!  I think one will take up residence at The Dollhouse in my teeny tiny foyer.
So handsome.

And, you already know I love these little brass pharmacy lamps.

His twin is going to my booth, so grab it while its still there!

AND, if you're wondering what my favorite piece of furniture is in my home, head over to my gal Tiffany's blog and see for yourself!

Have a fantastic spring weekend, kids!!!

Friday Shopping - What? Kirklands?

Friday, March 22, 2013

Before I check out for the weekend I want to thank everybody for the generous and kind comments about my Family Room Reveal for the One Room Challenge.  You guys made my day!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to kick my feet up for a few days!  Before I catch up on some couch time, I wanted to share a source for an affordable Louis-Phillipe mirror.

While shopping for a client master bathroom renovation, I came across these pretty mirrors at a  fantastic price.  Now I haven't seen them in person, but from my computer screen they look pretty damn good!

And the price is good too.  Just $139.

Louis Phillipe actions shots:

See them here.

Have a great weekend!

The Good Kind of Shopping

Sunday, November 25, 2012

Hello and happy Monday!  How was your Thanksgiving?  Mine was delicious (thanks Mom!) and I'm happy to say that my now slightly larger backside did not stand in any of those awful Black Friday lines.  I will never understand the excitement some people seem to get from that tradition. That being said, I did manage to make it to a few Antique Malls and actually found some lovely things.

Like this sweet floral chair.

It has a great shape -  and that peach and gray floral fabric? It reminds me of my own peach and gray wedding ages ago.

Who doesn't love a gold faux bamboo table?
Alex Papachristidis hasn't met one he doesn't like (and I say that in the best possible way).

This pair of interracial concrete greyhounds would be wonderful flanking a fireplace (or my front doors).
I'd love to have these, with a side of Zimba.

I haven't personally jumped on this bandwagon, but these lockers look great in orange.
And could be very practical in an office.

That concludes the stuff I didn't buy portion of my little shopping excursion. I'd love to know what you bought over the weekend. And more importantly, are you out of your "yoga" pants yet?

Latest Finds

Sunday, July 8, 2012

Did you have a good 4th of July holiday? I hope you did and I appreciate that you're checking in on me after my week away from the blog.  It's been a while since I've posted about my latest shopping finds , and I have some good ones that I'm excited to share with you!  Shall we get to it?

I was so happy to find this rattan headboard for my 13-year old daughter's bedroom.  So Palm Beach, right?  Well, she didn't have the same response to it that I did and within a few hours of placing it behind her bed I found it out in the hallway.  She said it was uncomfortable when she leaned her head against it and declared that having a headboard was too "mainstream".  Did I mention that she's 13?  I've learned to choose my battles so I'm sad to say that this one will be making it's way over to the shop this week.  : (   PS - Somebody buy this and send me a picture like this when you're done.

Luckily, these lamps made the cut for her bedroom.  They're mid-century turquoise and gold ceramic lamps.  There's a pair of them flanking her headboardless bed.  The shape reminds me a little of these Stray Dog beauties.

This painting has two of my favorite things - trees and pink!  This too will make its way to the shop this week.

These green crystals are antique. If you could see them in person you would find that each one is a little different in color and size.  They're perfectly imperfect  - and I like that.

This is just the latest candidate in my long parade of coffee tables.  (For now), it's staying in my family room.

I also got this big hammered brass pot with lion head handles.  I may have bought this just for those lions.

Now here's something you don't see every day. It's a brass candle sconce in the shape of a cobra.  The detail is pretty impressive. In fact, when my oldest daughter found it on the floor she jumped and squealed a little.  She didn't think that was as funny as I did.

This may be staying with me if I can find the right spot for it.  Trust me, this isn't a piece you can just work in anywhere.  I'm thinking when my master bathroom gets a little more finished it might be cool between that mirrors that go over the sinks.

That's all I got for you today!  How about you?  Did you celebrate the holiday with a little retail therapy?
