Scott's

Sunday, January 12, 2014

Monday already?  I hope you all had a great weekend.  We had some beautiful weather in  Chattanooga with temps in the high 50's and loads of sunshine.  That's my kind of winter weather!

Anyway, I wanted to share some photos with you of some fun things I saw at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta.  Surprisingly, the only thing I bought was lunch followed closely by some powered sugar donuts. But I did see lots of things I would love to have.

Like an enormous pair of concrete foo dogs.

Or this sweet dining set of 4 lucite chairs and a round table with faux bamboo legs.

Someone pounced on this bar cart right away. We got there pretty early in the day Thursday and it was already sold.

Looking back at the photos, I realize that I should have bought this rug.  It was in good shape and the dealer really wanted it gone.  He offered it to me for $125 and it was a big one.  I'm regretting not buying it on the spot.

There were miles of rugs like these.

Tables full of beautiful high end fabrics

And mountains of beautiful Chinese porcelain.

And this is just the stuff I remembered to take pictures of.  Really there was so much more.   My head is still spinning!

How was your weekend?  Any good shopping finds?

Those are some lovely goodies.

I've only been to Scott's once and it blew my mind. ATL has an embarrassment of fantastic home shopping sources.

Scotts is a fun place! I'm not good at knowing what's a good "deal" or whether the merchandise is of good quality. I too have walked away from many items.....

My eyeballs are popping out of my head at of this! I wish we had some where like this in Detroit. I'm impressed at your restraint, I'm not sure I could have resisted :)

Isn't Scott's great? We have one in Columbus but it's not the same. Can't wait to move back so I can go to the one in ATL!

Oh, how I love Scott's! It's been too long. How did you resist that rug? Bargain of the century. Oh well, maybe next time. I bought a Stiffel lamp on Friday - it wasn't necessarily a bargain but I had to get it!

Oh, and I picked up a similar looking faux bamboo table off Craigslist that needs some major work. Hope I can make it look decent!

I can't wait to go back to Scotts some day. I know how you feel about the rug regret. I've had that as well before. :)

Love it all Kim, and too bad about that carpet, maybe you'll be lucky next time! Glad you shared this tour, last time I was in GA, I couldn't go to Scott's because of a tight schedule, hopefully someday! I would probably go crazy! LOL! I did some shopping, bargain shopping and will share it on Tuesday. :-)
