Parking Lot Sale This Weekend

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

This weekend at Merchants on Main we're having a huge sale in the parking lot!  It's a great opportunity for many of the dealers to move some older merchandise and to make room for  new pieces that will be added for the upcoming holiday season. And of course, it's a great opportunity for shoppers to score some great deals!
The image above is the entrance to my space.  Most items inside the store (and including my space) will have tons of discounted merchandise!

I also wanted to share some pictures of some of the other dealer's spaces, too.

We just got this amazing pink sofa in this week.  So Hollywood!  If it were about 2 feet shorter, I would be writing this blog post while lounging on it in my living room.   And wait, here's the best part
the pink fabric is a textured Greek Key pattern.

Now we'll go in a whole different direction over to "Endurance"  This booth has a great collection of vintage artifacts combined with natural elements - kinda steampunk.  It's a great textural look and Erin has a real gift for putting it all together.  This booth never disappoints!

And of course, let's not forget the lamps

And we'll round out the tour with a little whimsy! If you're in the area, please try to stop by.  I'd love to meet you!

Online Shopping - Flamestitch and Chevron Bedding

Sunday, September 25, 2011

Last week I posted here about the plans for the Master Bedroom over at Project Dollhouse.  That plan

included some chevronish/flamestich bedding I saw over at Urban Outfitters.

which I first noticed in this month's Lonny.  Celerie Kemble used it in an office/guest bedroom in a New York penthouse and I loved it immediately! I wasted no time heading over to Urban Outfitters to see the bedding for myself when I came across some other great options I wanted to share with you.

They also have these flamestitch duvet sets

All images above from Urban Outfitters.

More internet searching led me to this bedding from here

and this
from here.

Technology can be a good thing!  Happy Monday!!!

Project Dollhouse Update- From a Tea Tin to a Master Bedroom

Sunday, September 18, 2011

So we're plugging away over at Project Dollhouse and I wanted to share the inspiration and some of the selections for the master bedroom.  Do you think you could be inspired to design a bedroom around a tea tin?

This is my muse! It's a pretty tea tin I came across recently and I fell in love with the jade green and tomato red color scheme and the oriental design.  So, here is how it gets translated into a master bedroom.

First, the paint
Spruce Green by Benjamin Moore.  This is a pretty accurate representation of the color in person.  It's more vibrant than most of the other color selections in the house.

This screen will serve as the headboard.  I blogged about this idea here.

I want to use this bedding from West Elm

with some accent pillows in these fabrics
Braemore's Flowering Branch - a favorite of mine!

And maybe a little teal and a little leopard.

I have some chunky lacquer side tables that I'll paint red, like this one above.

and some beefy brass lamps to flank the bed.

And that's as far as I got!  I'd love to know where you're finding your inspiration!

Loving Lonny's Layered Look

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Have you had a chance to peruse Lonny's latest issue?  There's so much to love there, (particularly Celerie Kemble's New York City project).  What I'm most enamored with is how beautifully layered all the spaces are.  They're so more than an assemblage of pretty furnishings in coordinating colors. The rooms don't feel sterile or "staged";  instead they feel comfortable, collected and interesting.  And they all have that one element we all strive to create - soul.  Take a look and see what you think.

Look at Celerie Kemble's dining room.  Nothing really "matches", yet it totally works.  There's mix of furniture styles, colors and textures.  And did you catch the marbleized wallpaper?

These next two images having me pining away for lacquered walls.

All images from Lonny

Do you love layering or do you like a more edited space?
