Do you remember Kristan Cunningham from the HGTV Show Design on a Dime? She and her small team of carpenters transformed rooms on tiny little budgets. It seems she is staying true to her M.O. as evidenced by these photos of her rental in L.A. See more photos, get her budget-stretching DIY tips and read the entire story here.
She claims the kitchen was renovated with a $1,000 budget.
I'd love to know if you remember Kristan from Design on a Dime and what you think of this space. Let's chat it up.

Oh, yes, I do remember her now. I never really cared for that show, but I love her home. It's got a lot of personality and doesn't look like a lot of other overdecorated spaces. Some nice personal touches, but very clean. Thanks for sharing!
I remembered her, of course! I was a huge fan of HGTV and almost watched all the decorating shows!
I love her home. It's beautiful and stylish yet doesn't look very contrived. Adore her kitchen, the antler's plague above her fireplace mantel, her dining area and those orange Eames chairs!
Thanks for sharing!

"Design on a Dime"....the description used by clients with champagne tastes on a beer budget! Kristen was one of the better ones, but I love how all the labor was "free"! Ha!
Clearly she has superb taste in design and architecture. Pretty easy to redo the kitchen with paint an make it look fab when you have that doorway and those windows. I remember the show, which I didn't every really care for, but I'm loving her style. I'm curious to know what you think?

I am not sure I can picture her face...hmm...I am off to read the full story! But she has really high end- collectiony- scientific- restoration hardwarey taste! And I am a huge fan of that! ;) xox!
I love this space. I actually blogged about it my first week blogging. And I loved that show but only when she was the host. She always did a great job. I even served her when I was a waitress in LA. I served a ton of celebrities and was always fine but made a FOOL of myself with her. I guess that's when I knew I was a design geek!
I think her place looks really cozy with a lot of interesting details. I like how she layered the rugs in the living room. The large jute rug she has is actually on clearance at West Elm right now. I'm considering snatching one up.
Her place looks amazing. Apparently she was holding back because I never saw anything that pretty on Design On A Dime.
Wow, that does not look like budget decorating. I really like the look. Am off to check it all out. I don't think I ever saw the show.
Place looks great! I especially love the door!

OMG this is GORGEOUS!!! Her apartment is way nicer than most people's homes!

She's adorable! My favorite shot is the last one with the orange chairs!
I liked her but hated the show. Her place is nothing like what they did on there. I like bits and pieces of her place.
This is really beautiful. This is called optimum utilization of space.
I'm with Bri, her place is nothing like the spaces she did for everybody else. I'm not feeling a budget kind of vibe in there, but maybe she's just that good! M.
I do remember her! She always matched her clothing with the client's rooms reveal! She seems so sweet. Her home is gorgeous! I love the wing chairs paired with the lamps. And the front door color is fun!
I don't remember the show, but I do love her home! The kitchen is fantastic (especially for being renovated with $1000 budget), and the first image of her living room? Gorgeous.
Oh yes! I remember her. I used to love that show.
These rooms are so sophisticated. Hard to imagine they were decorated on a budget. I must go now and get the deets!
I do remember her- that was a great show. It seems like every time I turn on HGTV now it's a House Hunters show!
She has great style. She also has a space with great "bones"! That's a sweet combo :)
Very interesting points. Thanks!
