Great pics! I love color and I can be fairly bold, but I am honestly not sure I'm bold enough for a bright color on the cabinets, though I do love the concept. I'd be afraid that it's not easily changed as my taste changes.

I did pale aqua on a client's kitchen cabinets once, does that count?

I love bold and bright colored kitchen cabinets in someone's home, not in my own home because in the long run, I prefer something that is more classic and timeless!

I've done it for clients too. Thankful that they were brave enough to trust me! I did black lowers and white uppers....that's sort of out of the box, isn't it? I love the color!

Hi Kim,

I am currently painting our rental cabinets with permission from our landlords. I wanted to do navy lowers with brass hardware, but opted for grey since we don't own the place and need something more neutral for future renters. C'est la vie!

Love those green cabinets!

Hi Kim,

I love the look, but I am not sure I could go that bold in my home. I am afraid I would grow tired of it too quickly and man what a job to repaint :). I ADORE the look of the high gloss navy though, I might be able to do that.

If I didn't rent, I'd copy Miles Redd's blue kitchen...it's spectacular!

If I had a big remodel planned years down the line, I would totally paint my existing cabinets a fun color. Why not have fun for a few years?

too bold for me, but all the power to those that can stomach it!

I do admire it when others take such risks, me, probably wouldn't have the courage. A friend of mine recently put her cottage on the market and had no luck selling with the red cabinets she'd painted. As soon as she had them repainted in white the traffic increased.

I love the idea. . . but am probably not inclined to take such a big risk in my own home!

Kim,
Love the different colors but don't think I could go bold but do like barn red on the bottom cabinets. One of my friends did black on her cabinets and I really loved it. That could be a possibility. I'd really have to get up to do it though!

I had metal cabinets in my last house that I couldn't afford to replace. I had to do something because they were beginning to yellow so I bought some colonial blue spray paint and went for it! updated metal cabinets with Colonial Blue, had light yellow trim and black granite counters with new stainless pulls. It looked sleek but fun.I loved that kitchen and everyone who came to my house said they loved it as well. Downside was that when it was time to sell the house, it became a negotiating point. I hear the new owners still have the cabinets, love them and don't plan to replace but that was their main negotiating item was that color of the cabinets. My new house cabinets are wood and after living with them for a year I'm getting pretty tempted to bring out the paint again. I was always happy to go into my blue kitchen. It was a pick me up and spoke to my personality. I'm with a few other posts here...if you aren't planning to move or if you have a remodel in the future, go for it! You might just decide it works for you and decide you don't need the major reno.
