Dwelling in Chattanooga

Sunday, July 4, 2010

If you have read this blog for any length of time, you know that I love to use vintage pieces when outfitting a space!  Late last week I visited a consignment shop in Chattanooga called Dwelling.  I'm so glad I stopped in!  Dwelling has a fabulous selection of all kinds of furniture and home decor items!  The motto at Dwelling is " recycle, reuse, redecorate," and owners Christi Homar (a talented designer), Karen Mills and Stacy Schaudel practice what they preach -  a rundown commercial building was purchased and renovated to house their consignment business!

From Dwelling's website

Dwelling's  policies are in line with most other consignment shops.  Items must be in good, usable condition, most items sold are a 50/50 split between Dwelling and the consignor, and items for sale are marked down 10% from the original price every 30 days. To make things easier, Dwelling even has an online quick-consign form.

And now on to the shopping!

Cute chinoiserie set just needs some updated cushions.

Brass + birds = love!

I want this in my breakfast nook.

This demilune table has a great organic finish.

All of this and some lighting too!

That chinoiserie set is fantastic. How are the prices at this shop? I've found some consignment shops, the nicer ones, can ask far too much. There is a shop in my area that will likely go out of business if they don't lower prices, but we also have one that's extremely affordable and moves merchandise quickly.

I was in Chattanooga this past weekend. We stopped at this shop because we saw some really cool things placed outside. WOW!! We were impressed. I bought two lamps and wanted much much more. Prices are very affordable. Can't wait to go back and visit. I actually picked up a card for you (Chattafabulous) from the counter. I am new to "blogging", and I find it really neat how connections can be made. I need more followers. Hope you beome one. Thanks! Your work is beautiful.
