Last Minute Gift Ideas

Sunday, December 15, 2013

Unbelievably, we're about 9 days out from the big day! Nothing like the countdown sign at the entrance of Wal-mart to light a fire under my procrastinating self.

How is your shopping coming along?  I'm nearly done with mine.  As usual, once I get the majority of my shopping done I feel pretty good about it - and then those last few shopping days creep up on me and I panic!

So, for those of you who are sharing this boat, I give you some last minute gift ideas that are sure to please the most discerning recipient.

First up, we have books! Not only can we enjoy what's inside the pages for a lifetime, they look great on the coffee table. All can most likely be found at your nearest Barnes & Noble.  Here are three at the top of my  list.

2.  Scarfs.  They keep you warm AND they add a pretty shot of color right by your face.  All good!

                                                                             Here

BONUS: For you fashion-challenged readers, I've provided a link that gives you 40 ways to tie a scarf!  You're welcome.

3.  Candles.  Diptyque in particular.  Here's why this is an awesome gift. It's because Diptyque candles are such a luxury item it's hard to justify buying one for yourself.  Getting one as a gift removes the anxiety !

I'd love it if you would share your favorite last minute gift ideas!

Happy shopping!!

Books are a go to for me. You selected good ones. I agree with the candles as well. A luxury candle is always appreciated.

Great choices, Kim!
You are ahead of me if you are almost done! I am finishing up by Wednesday, or at least that is my goal.
Happy Monday.

Great round-up Kim! Luckily though I'm done with my shopping and yes, some of my friends got scarves! :-)

Scarves - yes! Although I had to laugh at "the pretty shot of color by your face"……I currently have on an oatmeal colored shirt, sweater AND scarf…oh and leg warmers! I am SO boring, could someone in my family PLEASE give me a scarf with a pretty shot of color?? :)
I bought a couple of really lovely-handled magnifying glasses at Homegoods to give with coffee table books this year. One has a mother-of-pearl handle and the other is inlaid wood. I think they are such a pretty accessory!

Books are my absolute favorite things to give -- both the pretty coffee table versions and the engrossing novels. I'm lucky that my family members are all big readers. And Diptyque candles make me swoon - especially the fig scent. I don't know if I could bring myself to give one away! ;) Happy holidays to you!

What a fabulous room and the rug certainly sets it off! I haven't ever seen a mosaic on a hide rug either…love that it mimics the mosaics in the tile we've all come to know and love. Thanks for sharing these great ideas! Bedroom Designs
