...if you think I should put an awning on my house. Most of the exterior work is done at Project Dollhouse and I'm pretty happy with the progress we've made. Unfortunately, I've never been one to be satisfied with just "pretty happy." I think an awning over the front door could be just what my little house needs to give it some depth and interest. Here is the least attractive angle of the front entry. I think the Dollhouse is embarrassed by this unflattering, driver's license-esque photo. I took it at dusk with my phone.
I like the awnings below for my house because the curved shape mirrors the arches over my big windows.
Pretty, right? And I like the white piping. What do you think about stripes (not necessarily those colors).
I love the combination below, but do you think the curtains would be too much?
Maybe not! After all, look how well it worked for the Novagratz'.
And finally, feast your eyes on this awnings/curtains situation. So cute! And quite similar to the Dollhouse - they could be cousins.
Lots of options here - which one do you like best for the Dollhouse?

Awning would definitely be amazing. Must be scalloped, and I love either the rectangular version or the rounded on. Not so sure about the stripes, but maybe stripes on the curtains instead of the awning? Either way, love this idea (oh, and also the curtains are a nice addition, too.)--will REALLY make the painted door stand out. :)

Definitely!
I vote yes :-)
Love the black with white trim. I would go with a scallop. It will look so dashing with the coral door....
I think YES, in curves or stripes.. It was be wonderful jewelry for the front of your house.

I think a big huge yes!! It would look fab on your house - the perfect finishing touch!
I agree, the curved one would look great!
yes awning! No curtains. Super cute house.
Love the awning idea! And a stripe would be fabulous!
I love your blog! I found you via The Pink Pagoda and I'm your newest follower!
If your house were my house, I like the idea of an arched dark awning (Black or Charcoal) with piped edge but it needs an interesting profile or no piping. I would do no stripes because I feel any color will look too busy and white is kinda busy on an arched awning especially if you have a scalloped edge and not easy outside. I wouldn't do curtains, but i would do some wrought iron or interesting bracket supports. The second awning appears to have wood brackets for support/pretend support. Good luck deciding.
I like all of them....but I think option 6 is my favorite!! I just love the stripes!
LOVE that cafe awning with the intricate design! Such a fabulous feature as the first foray into the design of the house! Such a BIG statement for a small scale, totally GLAM!
Would love to get your thoughts on my most recent hotel renovation when you get a chance! Hope to see you soon!

Ooooh, a semicircular awning would be all kinds of cool.
I love the black and white one. Go for it!
Please go with the Dorothy Draper black and white stripe. I'm so obssessed with her right now - Brandy
I love the idea of an awning! Go for it Kim!
My vote is for a solid green awning! :)
Yes!!!!
Hand raised!
I like the first one a lot on the two story. I hate the second one. Too large for that house. It looks like it's eating the gable.
Yes...I think it fits your place perfectly! I actually drive by that las image all the time! It is so cute!
