Updating the Classics - Camelback Sofa

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

I think I've had a camelback sofa in my home(s) since my married life began!  It's sported a wide variety of fabrics, from country mini-prints to blue moire to white denim slipcovers.  I still have my camelback sofa and right now it looks like this

I still love it's classic clean lines and single cushion, but it's time for an upholstery update.

Looks good in leather!  Image from Apartment Therapy

I also love it in a fun color.  Image from Style Court

Lovely in velvet with contrast piping and ikat pillows - designed by the fearless Jamie Meares.  Image from her blog, I Suwannee, as are the next three..

Still looks fresh in a traditional fabrics.  Image courtesy of Urban Grace

And my favorite is this stunner from Domino Magazine

So many choices - what would you choose?

Oh dear I don't know, sometimes there are too many options :)
I like a bold pop of color on such a lovely traditional piece. Of course I'm saying this but pretty much liked all the choices - can't wait to see what you come up with.

Kim I love the chevron pattern, but if you chose a solid you could change up the pillows. Maybe a solid in a bright punchy color!!! KS

PS I am asking for opinions today also, we must all be in the mood for opinions. I need help for my Giant Letter P. KS

Kim,
I think that the leather looks great. I love a camelback sofa. You can upholster it so many ways.

I have to say that I love the colorful one from Style Court, but I don't think you can go wrong with a sofa that has great lines like that one! I finished my sofa re-do a couple of weeks ago and it was SO nice to get a fresh look!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE camel back sofas- my new kitchen banquet will be similar. Love all of these examples- my favourites are the green leather (also love a rich velvet) and the la fiorentina beauty.

I'd go with a bold print to give it a more modern look. They always pop up on Craigs so if you get tired of it sell it and buy a new one and give it a whole different look.

While I love the patterns, I'm pretty conservative when it comes to spending money on high ticket items like recovering a large piece. Without knowing the colors in your home I'm just going with the first thing that popped into my head-a beautiful linen or velvet in a solid dark shade of blue, somewhere between a periwinkle and a navy.

My mother, aunt, and grandmother all have camelback sofas. And the way they are upholstered really reflects each of their personalities. My favorite here is the green leather. Gosh, it's a stunner! Thanks for the great post. I'm going to forward it to the women in my family.

I like the idea of going solid with a fun color for the piping - yeah I'm boring like that! lol

I have always loved the Domino one! To this day it remains my favorite.

Wow that's a tough choice for sure! I'm diggin' the grey velvet with pink piping, black polka dot print and the last one is stunning as well. Sorry not much help...Good Luck!!

Ruthie Sommers' La Fiorentina camelback sofa in Domino has always been one of my favorites! If I could spare the money for the fabric (and actually had a camelback), I would totally go for it!

I also love the last image but I love the room in general. I think my second choice would be the green leather. Go bold is my sentiment:)

Do it in Ikat! I know it's trendy but so worth it for the time that you enjoy it!

Also, if you get the chance you must get a subscription to The Worlf of Interiors magazine. It's really one of the best ones out there that our firm gets.

I just bought my first camel back sofa this year and I love it. I have a simple cream cotton duck slipcover over it and over the one cushion. So comfy, I put it in my office.

Lets punch it up! Okay, I just love saying that!

I would do a solid with really fun pillows! I found a sofa just like that for 75 bucks at goodwill and I left it **Kicking self**

I love the fabrics, but you can never go wrong with leather! I guess I'm just still in the young boy stage of parenting, so practicality reigns supreme. I don't think you can go wrong. A classic shape is a classic shape and everything will look super great on it :)

Those large scale geometrics morph a camelback into something really fresh and up to date. I like the big pattern.

I would be torn between a velvet and a fun geometric print!

It is also enabled with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA and NFC Connectivity.
With the Samsung Galaxy literally taking the mobile phone world by storm, there
is increased anticipation of the arrival of the next
generation Galaxy S smartphone handset. Leaving
the Wi-Fi option turned on will very quickly drain the battery on the Galaxy S.

The device is certainly worth considering, even at
the full retail price and with only a $200 discount on the contract, it might make sense to consider paying the
full retail. , the Samsung Galaxy S came in one available option,
which also became a huge hit. Samsung galaxy has been developed
as a star model that is available at best bargain
deals.
