I think it is. I'll take a mix of vibrant color, layers of pattern and a dash of sparkle any day!  What about you?

I LOVE these, but I think in my real life a lot of it seems to cluttered for me...

I think it depends on my mood on any given day...

I always end up with my finds dotted around my house in different places (all placed thoughtfully, though)...and then go through spells of wanting to be understated...I think I just go back and forth!! Take care, Caroline

Understated is definitely underrated, but it also probably doesn't translate well for editorial features, so we end up with features on hot pink rooms. Funny stuff.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I love your blog.

i agree! i love all of the layers to a room!

I suppose my tastes lie somewhere in the middle. While I do have an appreciation for all design styles, I don't think I could actually live with that many layers in my home.

I think all styles can be overrated very easily. I personally love more simple rooms...these have elements I love, but all together I think I would develop a twitch or something! ha

Me love! I'm going color crazy with my upstairs living room right now, like someone hit me over the head with a rainbow color crazy.

oooh my heart is set on the first pic! actually, i think i'll take any room with a glam chandelier in it :)

I love the first pic too!! I think there is a time and a place for it - in rooms that get LOTS of use I think I would find it too cluttered! :)

I can appreciate these rooms from afar. I love the attention to detail, bold use of color, and eclectic cohesiveness. Don't think I'd want to live in them though. Just a wee bit too much decoration for me.

When the kids where smaller I had to have the house 'minimal' just to give my brain a rest. Now that they are a bit older and I have some 'me time' again I've gotten back to an abundance of 'stuff'.

Although, personally, I don't like every occational table filled to the edges...whereever do they put their coffee or 'tinis down?!

I'm with you... minimal is nice, but the layered look is nicer!
