I have posted about the Chattanooga Auction House here before, and I popped in yesterday to see what was coming up on the auction block this weekend. We are lucky to have this great resource in Chattanooga! This is a great place to score some fine antiques and decor items in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As with any auction purchase, the price you pay depends on how far the interested bidders are willing to take it, but usually the final prices are well under the actual value of the pieces. I also recommend that (with any auction purchase) you take some measurements and check out your potential purchase in advance for anything that may diminish its value. The Chattanooga Auction House will also take your items on consignment for auction. Learn more about The Chattanooga Auction House here.

Isn't there always room for one more chair? (Especially one as lovely as this curvy french number!)

Can't say enough about these porcelain garden stools. And in classic blue&white, its a no-brainer!

I wish I could have been there. Great finds.
I've not done much bidding on auction item, but I think it's an adventure that I'm ready to embrace. I need to find a pro like you to show me the way. Guess I'll just have to come to Chattanooga and go shopping with you!!
Come on!
Such a stunning pieces..I adore the second armchair...great post and I hope you got your PJ's...Kisses and see you soon!
OH MY, what a WONDERFUL resource you have in your town! I ADORE those needlepoint chairs! I just scored a wonderful needlepoint of a dog on a leash at good will in a lovely oval frame! So glad I saw this post! I'm so happy you came by to visit me and I think I'm definately going to hang around here awhile...lovely blog! AND now I have to search the chattanooga auction house on your blog to see what I missed!
Fabulous finds! Isn't it crazy when you find stuff like this in the most unexpected places?!
YOU are so LUCKY to have this nearby. There isn't an auction house close to where I live.... Maybe that is a GOOD thing, though! When I visit my parents in the Pacific NW we like to frequent an auction house in Portland and they have made some fabulous purchases. I have to limit myself to small things, since I don't drive there, I fly ~ BUT, if I lived there, I would be bidding on furniture, for sure, as those always go for such a song! Funny that a beautiful antique desk will sell for $150 and yet something like tiny chinese snuff boxes might go for $600. It's all in the eyes of the bidder, collector, etc....! Great stuff.
xx P&H
I have never been to an auction-- but have always been tempted-- just a little intimidated over the process! We have one here in Nashville, which is very similar to the one you have-- but I may have to check yours out-- great stuff!
In love with those fab silver serving pieces..to die for!
xx
