Wood Bead Chandeliers

Sunday, September 22, 2013

Let's talk about wood bead chandeliers today.  I like 'em, and here's why.

They reinvent the classic shape of a traditional chandelier.  The wood beads are softer, more tactile; making the entire piece feel more relaxed and casual.

Wood bead chandeliers work in more formal settings, too.
The "Maurice" chandelier from Arteriors is probably my favorite of the bunch.  It has such an unusual shape and so much presence.

Also from Arteriors is the "Louis".  Louis is a more classic in form, but the wood beads give it a new twist.

There's something so pretty about natural wood against a white backdrop.

Regina Andrew's wood bead chandelier has a more rustic feel with its distressed iron accents.

And finally, there's this little number.  Because of its small scale, I wouldn't recommend using it over a dining table, but it would be perfect in a powder room, small entry or hallway.

I love the Maurice too Kim! I agree with what you said about these gorgeous light pieces. Also, it seems to make any home feel 'approachable'. less serious, I think. Have a great day!

Oh boy, I have gotten to love them! I am out of places to put chandeliers, but will "work" on it! The one with the iron would fit here very nicely!

I still love wood bead chandeliers! and if I didn't need ceiling fans in my bedrooms, I'd have some in there. Hope you have a great week Kim,

I've long admired the beaded chandelier. Constantly looking for where I could hang one. Outside would be perfect! I love the photo collection you've shared. Beautiful and inspirational....

I do like these but I wonder if I still will in 5 years. I worry about things being too trendy.

I really like them outside, like the picture you posted.

Great examples, Kim. I really like the relaxed look the wooden beads add to an otherwise formal chandelier shape. Is this a hint that you're looking for one for your home??

ok you have completely made wooden chandeliers my new fave after murano glass. I have not seen one like it and I was in the design center in London yesterday as well and no shop had anything like that! Love the second room pic by the way - just stunning...

I adore this look, the Arteriors one is probably my favorite as well. I'm working with a client who values simplicity, no bling or shiny surfaces. I suggested one of these, but she said it was still too "razzle dazzle." >Broken Heart<

Even a petite wood bead chandelier will make a striking presence in the powder room. These chandeliers create an aura of warmth that would blend with all styles-contemporary, traditional, formal and casual.
