Built-in Banquettes

Friday, May 24, 2013

When we go out to dinner we always ask the host(ess) at the restaurant if there is a booth available.  Don't you think it makes the whole dining experience feel more intimate and cozy? Wouldn't it be great to have that same luxury in your own home?  I think so.

You also may find that it's good to know there's a banquette for every taste.

                                                        Like "Hipster"

"Mad Men" (design by Amanda Nisbet)

"Drama Queen" (design by Mary McDonald

"People Without Kids Who Never Have Spaghetti Sauce"

"Just Plain Folks"

"Deep Pockets" (interior design by Philip Gorrivan)

And my personal favorite"Bold Granny"

What's your flavor?

Bold Granny has been one of my all time favorite photos for some time.
The mix is so spot on there.

But I do have to say the no spaghetti one is absolutely stunning!
Maybe the key is white leather...

I would love a booth to sit in. Of course "people with no kids who don't eat spaghetti" is my favorite. I always like the impractical, but am forced to settle on practical.

I'm digging the hipster vibe. Adding a bench and throwing on a bunch of pillows is so practical. We've got a big Windsor bench that I have with our table and we've gotten great use out of it. Hoping to use it again in our new house but I'd also love to add some built-in seating somewhere too.

Agree about the booth, and Bold Granny is stylish and would camoflage spaghetti sauce nicely!
