Project Dollhouse - Master Bath Wallpaper Options

Monday, November 14, 2011

Originally I had planned to paint the master bathroom over at Project Dollhouse in stripes of white and Benjamin Moore's Spruce Green, which is the paint color in the master bedroom.

I have decided to also consider wallpapering the bathroom for a few different reasons.  First of all, the idea of measuring, marking and taping the space is a little overwhelming - especially considering I have to work around a window, some doors, a toilet, a vanity, and a shower in a very compact space.  Also, the walls have many imperfections.  There are already a few layers of wallpaper under the paint and I'm just not sure it will look good.

So, I'm leaving the wallpaper option open, and I found a few prospects that look promising.  They are all from Design Your Wall.  As a reminder, here is the plan for the Master Bedroom I posted a few weeks ago.

And the wallpaper options:

Sticking with the stripes here - with a side of polka dots.

This one may be too pink - is that possible?

This one is called Fountain.  Kind of zebra, kind of marbleized.  Zebralized.

This one is a real contender.  Love how it picks up on the Chinoiserie feel of the bedroom.  And I think a big floral could be really exciting in a small bathroom.  We'll call this Floral 1, because

Foral 2. Equally lovely.

Beige stripe.  My attempt at restraint.

Which would you choose?

All nice options but I think I like the first. I say you are a smart woman to realize the tremendous undertaking of stripes in the small bathroom.

I would go with the "zebralized" always a fan of zebra!

Yes, I would go with "fountain," the zebraized one. Definitely. Love where this is going, Kim. Can't wait to see it all done!!

Love the first one, both florals, and zebra fountain! I think I would shy away from using the florals, though. Not sure why, exactly....

Can't wait to see!

Im really liking the two florals, especially after looking at the plans you had posted earlier, but I think floral1 might be my favorite!

I really like the first one with the stripes and polka dots. I did paint horizontal stripes in our basement bathroom and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it might be. If you want any details feel free to contact me.

I'm voting for the stripes and polka dots! How about a bold graphic like your blog wall paper?
Best,

I'm voting for the striped "restraint" - it allows for so much flexibility in the finished space. A bold print like Dovecote suggested would also be neat. Please don't shoot me for this, but I immediately thought of "PomPom" in red & charcoal (it looks pink not red) from Sanderson.

I'm having trouble deciding because they are all so fabulous. I'm going to settle on Zebralized. Not only do I love the name you made up for it, but I think it is a good traditional print that also feels really current and modern.

I agree with you. Floral 1 is also my choice. It's pretty!

I think I like one of the two florals, they would be fun in a small space and go along well with your master bedroom design.

I'm going with floral No.1 with the green stripe as my second choice. Can't wait to see it.
