I folded and unfolded them about a dozen times trying to make up my mind about which one(s) I wanted - it was tough because I really wanted them all.
Ultimately I got just two - one in yellow, beige and black and the other in pink and charcoal. The texture is fantastic and there's so many ways you can use them.
Of course, you can always use them for the purpose they are intended - as blankets.
But I've also seen - and loved- them when used as upholstery fabric
Would you love to have this chair?
This is still one of my all time favorite spaces, and I never would have expected to see a French Bergere chair upholstered in a Mexican blanket - piped in purple no less.
I already have a job in mind for my blanket. It's going to be doing this.
Because of this.
Don't forget to check back with me Wednesday! My girls and I will have another update for you for the One Room Challenge!
Happy Monday!

Fun and very unexpected! Love how you plan to use the blanket, but also love the caned DR chairs upholstered in them. Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGreat solution. Which color are you using on the sofa?
ReplyDeleteI love them in black and white.
ReplyDeleteI am loving touches of these blankets. Always practical I feel. Your pup is precious and getting a blanket for her is so nice! Good luck with your ORC projects!

Nice! Great idea for the sofa. An upholstered ottoman would also look fab.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of upholstering a piece with one!
ReplyDeleteLove Mexican and Navajo! Great accents to any space!

I have a Mexican blanket that I bought in Tiajuana (sp) 15 years ago and I am not really in love with the colors anymore. I have always used it as a picnic blanket. Now I want one in a fun color.
ReplyDeleteI HAD to laugh.... I have THREE Mexican blankets that are in constant rotation on our couch... for the DOGS! They wash beautifully - and my oldest blankets are now super soft. I thought about getting some new ones and making seat covers for the car in them... maybe monogrammed or something too...
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.....you just gotta love those pups!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you doing with the pink and gray? I NEVER would have thought of using as upholstery!

Oh cute puppiness!! Great idea for a nice sturdy blanket - form and function.
ReplyDeleteThat's EXACTLY why we have it on our couch! We have a black puppy too!! Glad you liked the idea :) Thanks for sharing. PS- I see you like horse pics. Check out the blog soon for a new addition to the casa that's VERY horsey.

Love the blankets, but I love that little black beauty sleeping on the couch much more. So cute! Glad I'm not the only sucker where that is concerned.
