I like this option because the books are easily accessible and make a stylish display.
Rather than a floral piece in the center of the table, I'll use a big lamp. A few chairs will flank the table to make it even more functional.
I like how these books are stacked and styled with the horse bookends. This option would be pretty easy to create on top of a mantel, console table or chest of drawers.
A gorgeous etagere like this is a great alternative to built-in bookcases.
Even a little bar cart can function as a portable library. Brilliant!

I like the idea of stacking books decoratively and have done so in several spots at my house. My problem is that we have hundreds of books still boxed up. A library with built-ins is in the early stages at my house but it looks like a long way off until I have the bookcases done.Maybe we are just weird for having so many books!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love the round table idea for the library. Cannot wait to see the finished up room.
ReplyDeleteI just love that bar cart idea!!
ReplyDeleteI do have a bookshelf and it's a hot mess. I rearrange it all the time and still don't feel like it's right.
I've got books coming out of my ears. So I'm always looking for new ways to display them. Love the bar cart!! Thanks for all the great inspiration pics.
ReplyDeleteHow funny, I was just packing my books when I decided to seat and blog. The bar cart is simply adorable with books.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a ton but I keep the ones I do have in our office built ins!
ReplyDeleteI love the bar cart idea! I'm a magazine junkie, not really a book reader (I dropped out of my book club because I never finished reading any of the books!) I have magazines piled all over the house - on shelves, tables, the floor...
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas. I love the bar cart and the amazing gold shelve. I am a magazine junkie and have them piled up every where. I need to do something with them...
ReplyDeleteI love using a table, and the Oscar de la Renta table is my all time favorite! Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe images you have chose are gorgeous, Kim! Hope you get to click a few pictures!
Happy Tuesday.

Love a library table if you have room for it. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these!! The first has been a long time favorite of mine, but I really, really love the rest as well (hadn't seen them). Thanks for the great post!

I love all of these. What an interesting idea with the round table! I have some shelves over a built in desk, via an IKEA expedit and one day we'll have built-ins in the office again.
ReplyDeleteWhat great ideas Kim! I just experimented the other day with stacking books and taking jackets off. I dream of a floor to ceiling wall of books!
ReplyDeleteLovely images! I love the one with the bar cart and the books! So unique and stylish!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day

WONDERFUL Post.thanks for share..
ReplyDeleteGreat post!! I love the idea of stacking books and things (bowls, plates, mementos, plants, pictures) on a bookshelf. My latest obsession is to have a floor to ceiling bookshelf (flanking one wall)) in our future dining room (kind of like Katie Lee Joel's dining room featured in Domino) so I can stack all sorts of things on the shelves!!
